In a landmark resolution, the U.N. Human Rights Council has formalized that reproductive violence—including “forced or denial of contraception, forced pregnancy, forced abortion and forced sterilization”—is a component of gender-based violence against women and girls. [1]

Full bodily autonomy must always include the right to be pregnant and the right to not be pregnant, based on the choices of the individual. Anything else is violence. Give to show you agree.

The resolution defines reproductive violence for the first time in international law, with the unanimous backing of the U.N. Human Rights Council. [1] Officially naming these things as reproductive violence confirms what Reproaction has since we started more than a decade ago – from access to birth control and Plan B through clinic safety and defending medication abortion: full reproductive justice must include it all.
