What a month, John.

Before I dive into some reflections, I wanted to make sure you had a chance to contribute to my grassroots campaign before tonight’s end-of-month fundraising deadline. We're still just short of our goal and can use your last-minute support.

Last week marked the end of the Republican National Convention. It concluded with President Donald Trump's speech which was, of course, filled with exaggerations and lies. But what stood out was that Trump’s apparent strategy is to pin all his failures on Joe Biden.

We need to be very clear here: Trump is the President. He can’t deny that he failed on COVID-19, providing relief for working people and the unemployed, and has done nothing but fan the flames of racial injustice in this country.

He’s failed us. Period.

Unfortunately, I was not surprised to see my far-right opponent join Trump in spreading fear and lies last week with his latest attack ad against me. Meanwhile, I was casting votes to extend a lifeline to the US Postal Service and continued to move forward on legislation to address the climate crisis and prevent Republican cuts to Social Security.

August was a perfect reminder of the contrast in front of us and what's at stake in November. Failure is not an option.

We have to stay on our toes, and in order to keep fighting back against my Trump-Republican opponent's attacks, I need your support to close out the month strong: If you can, please chip in a donation before tonight's deadline -- every donation will go a long way.

Thanks for everything,

Mike
