We have a postmaster general that is sabotaging our vital USPS services.
John,
In the midst of unprecedented pandemic-fueled demand for voting by mail, we have a Postmaster General who is sabotaging our U.S. Postal Service.
Since Trump-appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy assumed his position in June, he has ordered MAJOR, intentional delays. His agenda is clear: suppress our votes, undermine confidence in a free and fair election, and privatize the USPS.
The U.S. Postal Service is a treasured public institution enshrined in our Constitution; it belongs to the people!Food & Water Action and our partner organizations are standing up to help save the USPS before it’s too late. Join us today.
DeJoy has acted swiftly to undercut the Postal Service. After taking office on June 15, he quickly ordered a slew of disastrous policies to deliberately slow and sabotage the mail. He wants to change the USPS from a government service that benefits all of us, to a business that will serve the privileged few.
DeJoy also has personal reasons for wanting the USPS to fail. He’s riddled with major conflicts of interest — he owns at least a $30 million stake in a USPS contractor (XPO Logistics) and as much as $100,000 in Amazon stock options. The more the USPS struggles, the fatter his bank accounts get.
Due to pressure from dedicated USPS workers and the public, DeJoy claims he'll suspend further mail-delaying policies, but he’s made no mention of reversing the damage he’s already done.
These reckless, purposeful actions during a pandemic ramp up Trump’s efforts to undermine the election and kill vote-by-mail.
We're in a fierce fight for our future. Climate chaos is now; we’re defending our food, water and planet from the dangers of unfettered corporate greed.
Together, we must do everything we can to remove DeJoy so that our votes against Trumpism and for climate champions are heard in November! Add your name today.
Onward together,
