We have a real problem, friends, so I'll get straight to the point: Our critical end-of-month deadline is just a few hours away, and our fundraising is still lagging behind our crucial goal.
House Democrats have fought hard to pass lifesaving legislation – to provide access to health care, paid sick leave and needed aid to workers affected by the coronavirus pandemic. But as the GOP focuses on putting special interests over the health and safety of families and dismantling our health care, COVID-19 cases are still at alarmingly high rates in Florida and across the nation.
Friends, it's truly never been more urgent to counter President Trump's corrupt and dangerous agenda. But he and the RNC have set their sights on Florida. They are determined to win here, defeat me and retake the House.
That's why I couldn't be more thrilled that a fired-up group of Floridians who know the GOP's values don't represent our state agreed to match every dollar until we meet the deadline to ensure we have the resources we need to win the fights to come – but, right now, we're still falling $2,229 short of our match goal.
