Hi John -- making sure you caught the update about The Washington Post's coverage of Cameron and the campaign.

The recognition we're getting is proof that we're on the right track. But it also means that the special interest groups backing Bob Good are going to be mobilized ever more to stop Cameron.

To make sure we're ready, and that big money does not drown out the voices of the people of VA-05, we're working to make August our strongest month yet for online grassroots contributions. And we're only $3,197 away from making that happen.

So if you can, please give $5, $25, or more before tonight's deadline. Every little bit helps!

----FORWARDED MESSAGE----

John, our campaign has had a big week.

We launched our first TV ad of the general election. We were honored to formally be endorsed by Virginia Senator Mark Warner. And this campaign's hard work in reaching out to voters and connecting across party lines was highlighted in The Washington Post.

The article discusses our unique ability to reach critical independent voters (and even some Republicans) because of our strong message, which is focused on putting people first to make progress on the issues important to voters, like healthcare, education, and economic opportunity.

Meanwhile, my opponent's campaign has consistently emphasized his opposition to LGBTQ equality as a reason that he's well-suited for office. He seems to think he can win by dividing us.

Instead, the contrast between his approach and our inclusive, empathetic, and issues-driven campaign has put VA-05 -- long a Republican stronghold -- squarely in play. As the Post reports:

Stephen Farnsworth, a political science professor at the University of Mary Washington, said disaffected moderates in the sprawling district could end up being the deciding votes -- if Webb can muster the strategy and the resources.

We need to continue our steady outreach across the 5th District. We need to be able to fully fund our TV and digital ads -- so we need to make every fundraising goal between now and Election Day.

We still need another $9,673 by tomorrow to meet our August benchmark. Please give what you can today to close the remaining gap >>
