Hi John, it's Jane Fonda here. After decades of fighting for
justice, I've gotten pretty good at spotting the difference between

So when I tell you that William Lawrence and Donavan McKinney are the real
deal, I mean it. They are running in two of the most competitive
Democratic primaries in Michigan – and both races could come down to what
we do in these final days.

Donavan McKinney's commitment to the climate fight is deeply personal.

He grew up in the shadow of Detroit's smokestacks and still lives with the
asthmatic cough he developed as a child – a cough his mother, grandmother,
and brother have, too.

Donavan will never abandon Detroiters because their fight is his fight.
That's why my Climate PAC and my friends at the Progressive Change
Campaign Committee are standing with him.

His opponent on the other hand? Shri Thanedar voted to thank ICE as they
terrorize our communities. His campaign is not powered by working people
like Donavan's is – it is propped up by a massive stock portfolio and his
own deep pockets.

Detroit deserves a fighter who knows what pollution, inequality, and
political neglect do to a family. Donavan is that fighter.

Will's climate activism began at age twelve, when he first learned about
climate change.

He co-founded the Sunrise Movement and started the nation's first campus
fossil fuel divestment campaign while a student in college. His
coalition-building work for the Green New Deal has already resulted in
real policy outcomes, like portions of the Build Back Better plan and the
Inflation Reduction Act.

He's also put his body on the line to protest pipeline projects. In fact,
his arrest record looks a lot like mine!

As with many progressive, pro-planet candidates Will's in a tough primary
that will determine who goes on to flip this now-red seat blue. Super PACs
have already spent more than $3 million trying to defeat him.

That tells you everything you need to know: powerful interests are
terrified of what Will will do in Congress – and they are willing to spend
whatever it takes to stop him.

The attacks will only grow louder between now and Tuesday. William and
Donavan need us to answer them with overwhelming grassroots power.
