I’m Dina Titus. I represent Nevada’s First Congressional District. Today, I’m going to ask you to join our campaign, but before I do, I want to tell you a little about myself and why I’ve spent my life fighting for Southern Nevada.
I’m the granddaughter of a Greek immigrant. Growing up, I spent time helping in my grandfather’s restaurant while he taught me the Greek alphabet, introduced me to our culture, and showed me the importance of working hard and giving back.
Those lessons stayed with me when I moved to Nevada and began teaching political science at UNLV. I spent 34 years in the classroom, represented my community in the Nevada State Senate, and eventually had the honor of being elected to Congress.
Through it all, I’ve followed one simple principle: Fight for the people who need the most, not the people who have the most.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his Republican allies are working to roll back our freedoms, raise costs for working families, and threaten the programs our seniors depend on.
I’m standing in their way, but I can’t do it alone.
In Congress, I’ve taken on Big Pharma to lower prescription drug costs, fought to protect Social Security and Medicare, and stood up to protect our environment while bringing good-paying jobs home to Southern Nevada.
I’ve never been afraid to call it like I see it, or come out swinging when Southern Nevadans are getting a bad deal.
