In less than two weeks, Michigan voters will decide whether three WFP champions — Abdul El-Sayed, Donavan McKinney, and Will Lawrence — move one step closer to Congress.

Corporate donors are spending tens of millions of dollars trying to stop our candidates from winning in Michigan because there's no question about who these candidates are or what they believe in:

• Abdul left medicine for public service after realizing too many people were getting sick because they couldn't afford the basics — and he went on to help cancel hundreds of millions of dollars in medical debt.
• Donavan has spent his career organizing alongside workers and fighting for Detroit families who work hard but still struggle to afford groceries, pay the rent, or keep up with rising costs.
• Will has spent years fighting to keep families in their homes and make Mid-Michigan a place where everyone can afford to live — with good union jobs, safe housing, and communities that can thrive for generations.

Corporate donors are spending millions because they’re scared. They’ve seen working class-champions like Brad Lander in New York, Melat Kiros in Colorado, Randy Villegas in California, and Chris Rabb in Pennsylvania triumph over the corporate wing of the Democratic Party, and they see their power and influence on the decline.

They know these candidates can't be bought. And they fear that wins in Michigan will add more fuel to the fire that has ignited a movement for working class representation.

If Abdul, Donavan, and Will win on August 4th, it won’t just be another victory for progressives over the corporate Democrats, it will signal a seismic shift in our national politics and prove that voters are tired of the corporate elite controlling our politics.

That’s why the interests that benefit from that status quo aren't taking any chances. AIPAC, crypto billionaires, and wealthy AI interests are pouring unprecedented amounts of money into Michigan to keep the establishment in power.

And the numbers are staggering, John.

• AIPAC has spent nearly $30 million trying to defeat Abdul — the most it's ever spent in a single race.¹
• A crypto Super PAC has poured more than $1 million into attacks against Donavan because they see his opponent as another opportunity to advance the crypto industry's agenda in Washington.²
• And wealthy interests backing the rapid expansion of AI data centers are spending heavily against Will because they know he'll stand in the way of corporations that want to profit from an unchecked AI buildout while working families and local communities bear the costs.³

None of this is happening by accident.

The billionaire class is throwing everything they’ve got to defeat our candidates in Michigan because for them, this fight is existential.

And while we'll never match the billionaire money flooding these races, our movement has always been built differently.

We organize. We knock on doors. We make calls. We have conversations with our neighbors. We show up for each other. And when it's time to fight, millions of ordinary people pitch in what they can because they believe a better future is worth building together.
