Hi CLCV Member,

At this moment we are all feeling the impacts of the very present climate crisis. These are uncertain and scary times. While we are grappling with a worsening pandemic, now Californians are facing displacement, pollution, extreme heat, blackouts and more. What’s most heartbreaking is that this climate chaos is preventable; it is a direct result of our incessant burning of fossil fuels.

Tell Assembly leadership TODAY that we need climate action on transportation - we know what needs to be done and we need leadership that will step up.

If we cut carbon pollution we can slow the climate crisis and avoid the most catastrophic impacts. Do you know the biggest source of carbon pollution? You guessed it - transportation. Our gas fueled cars, trucks and busses. Yet, California has failed to make any of the big changes to our transportation infrastructure that are needed. And one legislator in particular has single handedly stopped bill after bill focused on clean transportation efforts. Jim Frazier is the Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee, a committee that in recent years is where clean transportation and transit policy proposals are killed. Assemblymember Frazier refuses to lead on a clean transportation future and our communities are suffering as a result.

Frazier has gone so far as to write a letter as Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee asking the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to suspend and delay the development and implementation of pollution regulations.

California cannot afford more inaction on the climate crisis, our lives, livelihoods and communities are at stake.

Tell Jim Frazier & the Assembly- California’s families need climate action on transportation NOW.

Best,
