John - I hate to be so direct, but our end of month deadline is tonight at midnight and we're still roughly $13,000 from where we need to be. If you're in a position to chip in, can I count on you to pitch in $10 to help us hit our goal?

I know you're probably getting lots of emails from other important campaigns asking for your donation, but let me explain why this goal is so critical for us.
Last week, we got news that the Republican Governors Association pledged to spend at least $3 million more to boost my far right opponent.
This comes off the heels of him holding dangerous, irresponsible in-person fundraisers - while affiliated dark money groups are bankrolling divisive attack ads against us.
All that totals up to more than $7 million in spending so far against our campaign, John.
Compared to that, our $250,000 online fundraising goal might sound small. But I'll let you in on something: when tens of thousands of North Carolinians from every corner of our state chip in $5 or $10 at a time, we build a grassroots movement that can take on the biggest dark money groups in the country.
Hitting this goal will send a message that this team is fired up and ready to keep North Carolina on the path to progress - but right now we're still around $13,000 short.
