A supporter sent me this today. Someone went around and covered our yard signs with flyers reading “go back to your homeland”.
Let’s make one thing abundantly clear: America is my homeland. I’m not going anywhere.
I've spent my career helping tens of thousands of Virginian families get food on the table, help students focus on their what their teachers are saying instead of the hunger in their bellies, and repeal laws that kept people behind. The screener I built has helped 2.5 million families unlock over $100 million in benefits they were already owed. Whoever printed these flyers believes that this work doesn’t belong here.
Consider this: somebody decided this campaign was worth the trouble of driving around the district at night with a stack of these flyers. That’s a strange kind of compliment.
We will not be intimidated.
The signs will go back up. We’re getting more made. Our campaign doesn’t benefit from corporate PAC or foreign interest money - directly or indirectly. Can we count on you to rush a $1, $5, $10, or $25 donation to our campaign to help us counter the hate?
