Mastriano Announces $2.7 Million for Franklin County Regional Airport Aviation Community Center

HARRISBURG — Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-33) today announced $2.7 million in state funding to support construction of a new Aviation Community Center at Franklin County Regional Airport.

"This investment is about preparing Franklin County for the future," Mastriano said. "The Aviation Community Center will give students, workers and employers new opportunities to connect through workforce training, education and community engagement while helping ensure our region remains competitive for years to come."

The Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA), which operates Franklin County Regional Airport, will use the funding to construct a new Aviation Community Center providing space for workforce development initiatives, community events, educational programming and partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, businesses and civic organizations.

Funding for the project is being provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's (DCED) Keystone Communities Program, which supports projects that promote economic development, strengthen communities and improve quality of life across the Commonwealth.

Construction is expected to begin following final design and project approvals.
