John, I need to tell you where the fight to stop Trump’s arch stands, because it’s getting worse.

A few weeks ago, a federal commission packed with Trump appointees voted 8 to 1 to advance the Arc de Trump — 250 feet tall, sitting on Memorial Circle, at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetery.

They heard nearly three hours of public opposition first. Veterans. Families. People who understand what that place means to this country. The commission listened, then voted to advance the arch anyway.

This isn't final. But it's closer than it's ever been.

The sightline between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington was designed on purpose — a quiet symbol of a reunited country — and Trump wants to put a monument to himself in the middle of it.

I've spent enough of my life on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery to know its gravity. My father, killed in action during the Vietnam War, is buried there. Men who I trained, who served under me, are buried there. It is not the backdrop for some draft-dodging coward’s vanity.

So we're asking for $5. That's it.

$5 because Trump’s commission could force this through before most people even hear what’s happened.

$5 because we're up against a President who's made this one of the top priorities of his administration.

But really, $5 or anything you can afford. Because whatever you can give, right now, matters more than the amount itself.

Can we count on you? Chip in that $5 and help VoteVets raise enough hell that they can't force the Arc de Trump through in secret. Enough to stop this, once and for all.

We've stopped Trump before.

With your help, we’ll stop this, too.

Very respectfully,
