Thank you for heeding the call and taking part in our National Day of Action for all of those who have been killed by ICE.

Our campaign to demand accountability for these killings has ignited a national movement for justice. This past Saturday, July 25th, more than 300 vigils were held across the country to honor Lorenzo, Johan, and the dozens of others who have been killed by ICE since the start of this Trump administration.

Thousands of people came together through candlelight vigils, prayer services, rallies, and community gatherings to mourn those we have lost and demand change. Families stood alongside faith leaders, students, advocates, and elected officials with the shared belief that every life has value and that no family should have to suffer such a preventable loss.

Across the country, people shared the stories of those whose lives were taken from them. They spoke their names and remembered them as fathers, sons, brothers, neighbors, and friends.

An overwhelming number of those killed by ICE are Brown men and Latino men. This administration is targeting our communities, and as LULAC, it is our responsibility to stand up and say no more.

This Saturday, we were honored to stand in solidarity with people and organizations from around the country, from small-town America to major metropolitan cities. Some vigils brought together dozens of people, while others filled entire streets, but every gathering sent the same unified message that our communities will not remain silent.

The images from across the country show the strength and unity of this movement. Behind every candle lit and every name spoken is a community committed to protecting human dignity and demanding accountability.

Our National Day of Action may be over, but our work is just beginning. We will continue to honor the lives we those who have been killed by ICE by fighting for policies that protect our communities.
