The umpteenth ‘once in our lifetime’ storms overtaking our nation’s coastal cities.

California – across the entire state – is burning.

The public and blatant violation of the Hatch Act during the RNC convention.

That was all this month.

I have felt frustration, outrage, astonishment, bewilderment – all just this week.

Those feelings tend to weigh us down, and make it hard to see the way forward. That certainly does not invalidate them, particularly in times like these, but there’s a reason we chose compassion as our cornerstone for this race. Because an emotion like compassion has to be active. You have to choose to feel it when other – darker – emotions are so much more readily available.

That list also shows a lack of leadership from President Trump, someone Rob Wittman has supported 95% of the time this congressional session, including voting against additional funding for the USPS, this week.

I got in this race because I am done sitting on the sidelines watching our district be forgotten and misled by Rob Wittman. I am ready to show up for you. We will lead with compassion, but that compassion is fired up and ready for action. We need you with us!
