Americans rewire their grocery shopping routines while digesting the biggest price jump in 50 years

I’m no economist, but when people are adjusting their behavior, that seems like a bad sign for the economy. What have you changed?

The millennial generation is split in 2: an older crowd with boomer-style comfort, a younger set going ‘back to the early 1900s’

It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times. Looks like I won out on this one. The dividing line seems to be age 35 or so

Ely’s Automatic Housemaid by Elizabeth W. Bellamy - When a well-meaning inventor sends his two experimental "Automatic Household Beneficent Geniuses" to his desperate friend, the resulting domestic comedy proves that while a machine might be able to clean a house, it lacks the human touch required to keep it from descending into chaos.

Also Worth A Look…

  • Why Not Having A Career Plan Might Actually Help You - Certainly cuts down on disappointment. I had a pretty detailed career plan and it didn’t exactly work out well. What’s the best “unplanned” thing that ever happened in your career?

  • The Secret To Lasting Love May Be Hidden In Mathematical Equations - Who says romance is dead?

  • Financial Hardship Linked To Brain Shrinkage, Cognitive Decline - This is really interesting to me, because I would have expected the exact opposite to happen. To me it seems like people who are going through financial hardship would have to be more creative with their resources and that would make them a lot sharper than people who don’t have to deal with those issues

  • Millennials are trying to make minivans cool again - We don’t have a minivan, but we do have an SUV and despite the relative lack of use the back seat gets I wouldn’t change that for the world. The space definitely comes in handy

  • Monster 20-foot great white named ‘Big Rose’ spotted as shark sightings surge 1,000% off US coast - Mayor Vaughn wants you to know the beaches are open

  • ‘Spider-Man’ to the rescue - Helps man in wheelchair cross street - That’s nice and all, but it would have been more impressive if he used his webs to fly him across the street

  • Dad Says He Refused to Let His Mother-in-Law Bring Her Emotional Support Peacock Into His House Again After the Last Visit - And rightfully so. If you can’t show the training it’s had to work as a service animal, your animal should stay at home

  • South African family fears a mamba in the bedroom, then rescuers find a cobra in the bed - There simply aren’t enough nopes. I’d never be able to sleep in that house again

  • ‘Time traveller’ from year 6000 has awful news for humanity as he shares chilling photo - Might want to go ahead and set your 401(k) to “Aggressive”

  • Measles surge hits new milestone as US cases surpass last year’s total - If only there was some way people could avoid getting measles. Oh well, we can dream…
