Donald Trump’s Energy Department just admitted that it canceled clean-energy grants based solely on whether the projects were located in red states or blue. Of more than 2,200 grants Trump’s administration reviewed, it canceled 284 of them. Almost every canceled grant was tied to a state that supported Kamala Harris or elected two Democratic senators, while hundreds connected to Republican states were spared. This administration is turning our taxpayer money into a political loyalty test where states that cooperate with Trump are rewarded, while states that resist him face canceled health funding, withheld disaster assistance, election security threats, lawsuits, and demands to surrender private voter information.
