JOhn — the White House’s Domestic Policy Council recently released a new report.
Was it about the higher costs stemming from Trump’s tariffs? No . Was it about rising gas prices due to Trump’s war in the Middle East? No . Was it about Americans going hungry thanks to massive cuts to food assistance? No .
It was all about Smithsonian history museums — their so-called “divisive narratives” and “improper ideology” thanks to “radical activists” at the helm.
Yes, the Trump administration is prioritizing challenging the portrayal of long-accepted facts of history in museums over lowering costs for the American people.
Not only did this report contain several inaccuracies, it also took months of work from our federal government. And when I asked during a House oversight hearing how much it cost taxpayers, the answer I got was “I don’t know.”
It’s clear this isn’t about history at all. It’s about an administration that wants its own ideology and its own set of facts put ahead of the truth.
I believe that the American people prefer to learn the truth about our nation's history, in all its imperfection. But more than anything, the American people want a government focused on lowering costs and keeping them safe.
With Trump’s Domestic Policy Council refusing to focus on actual domestic policies, it’s even more important to flip the House so SOMEONE in government is getting things done for the American people. Please chip in today to help restore a Democratic majority. [[link removed]]
