Good Monday morning! As we approach Nov. 3, the media is trying to convince voters that this election is simply about the candidates’ personalities. But in her hard-hitting op-ed, Heritage President Kay C. James says it’s about much, much more than that. Meanwhile, Heritage election expert Hans von Spakovsky busts leftist myths about mail-in voting. And our resident COVID-19 expert, Dr. Kevin Pham, exposes the truth about those proposed national mask mandates. Check out these stories and much more below.
Which America Will You Choose? <[link removed]>
It’s hard to believe what we’re now seeing. For months, the forces of Marxism, socialism, and anarchy—spurred on by the media and leftist political leaders—have been terrorizing us and threatening the values that make America the greatest nation in the world. America now faces a choice, says Heritage President Kay C. James, “over whether America as we know it continues to exist at all.” Read the full commentary to learn more about the stark choice we face and why no one can sit out this fight

Emergency Funding Won’t Fix the Postal Service <[link removed]>
With the presidential election looming ever closer, leftist politicians have intensified their calls for universal mail-in voting and massive new subsidies for the U.S. Postal Service. But as election expert Hans von Spakovsky explains on Fox News’ “Life, Liberty, and Levin,” the USPS’s serious flaws make mass mail-in voting absolutely unfeasible, and these flaws were decades in the making. “Suddenly throwing money at it two months before the election isn’t going to resolve the problem,” he says. Watch the segment to learn more about the deep systematic issues within the USPS and how they will affect mail-in voting <[link removed]>.
A National Mask Mandate Would Be Overkill, but a New COVID-19 Treatment May <[link removed]>
Help If a nationwide mask
mandate sounds like overkill to you, you’re not alone. But that’s exactly what liberal politicians are promoting, claiming that it will save 40,000 lives. Would such a mandate truly be so effective? Heritage visiting policy analyst Dr. Kevin Pham digs into the data for the answer. A more promising approach, Pham says, is the Trump administration’s fast-tracked convalescent plasma treatment for COVID-19 patients, saying “we may have another option in the fight against COVID-19.” Read Pham’s commentary on convalescent plasma treatment <[link removed]> and his perspective on the proposed mask mandate <[link removed]> to learn more about the newest helpful, and unhelpful, tools in the fight against the pandemic.
