Hey there, it's Elaine Luria. I just finished two challenging tasks:

I got in an hour-long spin session, during which I had to make one of the toughest decisions of this campaign so far.

I’ll back up. Earlier this month, I launched my first TV ad, [[link removed]] called “Ready,” across Coastal Virginia.

The response was immediate. New volunteers signed up, new donors chipped in, new energy filled the air. The momentum was real. I could feel it.

Now, I’m usually a cautious decision-maker. But after 20 years in the Navy, I’ve learned to be decisive under pressure, and above all, to trust my instincts.

I know from hard experience what will happen if we’re drowned out on TV. In 2022, far-right groups spent over $6 million flooding the airwaves with attacks against me. We had to play defense, and my MAGA opponent narrowly won in November.

I am not letting that happen again. So after seeing the response to the ad, I had to trust my gut:

I told my team to extend the ad’s airtime through the end of July, even though we don’t have the extra money in the budget.

The House majority could come down to this one district. We need more markets, more airtime, more weeks on the air than we originally planned. Now I need this grassroots team to back me up.
