In the wake of our primary election results, an article in The Nation caught my eye that called out a major issue we need to tackle in Congress: climate change. (Yes, this was before the wildfire smoke).
We campaigned on affordability, rising costs, and fighting back against Trump, and now we need a renewed focus toward climate action. And folks are right to call for it, especially during this past month of 100+ degree heat waves and smoke-filled skies.
With so much tumult in our politics, we have to remember not to retreat from climate action. Thanks to advances in solar, wind & battery technology, we can make the transition to renewable energy while lowering costs and creating good jobs. It can even be a unifying national project — if we can break the stranglehold of Trump’s fossil fuel profiteer allies.
The good news is that I know the same movement that achieved sweeping victories on Election Night also believes in the climate action we need right now. But I want your help to show it.
