I sat down with New York Times columnist Ezra Klein for one of the longest interviews I've ever done.

It's been a funny experience.
People suddenly seem fascinated by this idea that an auto repair and machine shop owner from Skamania County wound up in Congress. But honestly… I'm not sure I'm all that interesting.
I still wake up in the same house, work at the same shop with my husband and struggle to find child care. I still worry about whether small businesses can survive. I still believe if the government writes a rule that doesn't make sense, we ought to fix it.
The cameras leave. The work continues. Sometimes I think Washington, DC forgets that.
Politics has become so focused on the next headline that we've stopped asking whether anything actually works. I didn't run for Congress because I wanted to become famous.
I ran because I got tired of watching practical problems pile up while everyone argued about them. That's why I'm still in this fight.
If more people are paying attention now, I hope they're paying attention to that.
Because Congress doesn't need more personalities. It needs more people willing to roll up their sleeves.
