Dear Friend, The Trump Administration continues to make the headlines day after day, which makes it easy for some important issues to fly under the radar, such as the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) lacking enough members to legally make even the most basic decisions, like opening investigations or conducting audits.
This administration’s blatant disregard for our election laws, especially in a time of heightened risk of Russian interference, is appalling. And what has Cory Gardner said about any of this? You guessed it. Nothing.

The FEC requires four of its six commissioners to call a quorum and they are down to just three members, leaving the commission void of any power whatsoever. Furthermore, the FEC is meant to be a bi-partisan agency and limits three seats to a single political party.
Trump has refused to nominate any Democrats.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering this will have a rippling impact on the 2020 Presidential and Congressional races and we all know who benefits from Russian interference in our elections.
This is a matter of urgency. The very agency responsible for protecting our elections from interference is defunct. We can’t afford to wait until after the next election to address this problem because as long as our elections are vulnerable, meddling is imminent.
