But here’s what the polling also found:

They’re right to ask.

Because Pete Ricketts and his billionaire allies are absolutely going to spend millions trying to define me before I can define myself.

They’re going to flood the airwaves with attack ads. They’re going to lie about who I am and what this campaign stands for. They’re going to do everything they can to crush this movement before it grows any bigger.

So it’s a fair question. But here’s my answer: I’m not going to let that happen.

We are defining this race right now, and we’re not slowing down. We need the resources to tell our story NOW — before the attacks begin.

I’m not a billionaire. I don’t have a family fortune to fall back on. What I have is people.

So I’m asking: can you rush a donation today to help us go on offense, reach voters first, and prove that this grassroots movement is strong enough to take on Pete Ricketts and win?

If we wait until the attacks start, we’ll already be behind.
