Lizzie Pannill Fletcher for CongressNeedless to say, it's been an eventful week -- and home and across the country. Our neighbors in Texas and Louisiana and elsewhere along Hurricane Laura's path are evaluating the damage Laura brought this week and the challenging recovery ahead. And across the country, we are all looking at the many challenges before us.

I put my name on the ballot in 2018 because I, like you, saw not only those challenges before us -- but also the opportunity to do something about them. If we have learned anything here in Houston, it is how much we can accomplish when we work together. And this past week has reminded us, it is essential that we do so now.

Election day is just around the corner--and with it all the hope of a new beginning, a reset, and a chance to unify our country around our common values and common purpose. But between now and then, we know that this will be a tough race. And we saw this week, sadly, that those who are opposed to this campaign will peddle the worst kinds of lies to try and defeat us.

I know, though, we can overcome the challenges of campaigning--the dirty tricks and dishonesty--and bring home a victory because we know that the challenges facing our community and our country are too important to do anything other than win this race.

It will require each of us showing up and doing what we can.
There is much I have asked and will ask you to do.
Today, I hope you will consider making a contribution.
As Gordon and Patrick have told you recently, we are working hard to get to an end-of-August milestone that will be a key benchmark for what we can do in the campaign in the weeks ahead. It won't be the last time we ask -- you know that by now -- but if you can contribute now, our entire team will be so grateful.

We won't stop working from now to election day -- knowing that together, we can do anything,
