Senate Conservatives Fund

Fellow Conservative,

There's a scene in the 90s classic movie Office Space where two consultants — the "Bobs" — sit a guy down and ask him, flatly, what it is he actually does all day. He fumbles. Everybody in the room already knows why: he doesn't do anything, and he's about to get canned.

We'd like to ask Senate Republican leadership the same thing.

"What would you say you do here?"

Because from where grassroots conservatives are sitting, Senate leadership doesn't do much of anything.

Take the SAVE America Act.

Here's a bill that simply says people should prove they're citizens before they vote. It was promised to voters in the 2024 landslide. It's championed by President Trump. It's passed the Republican House multiple times. Supporters say it would help stop voter fraud and restore trust in our elections.

And yet Senate Majority Leader John Thune won't fight to pass it. He has the tools — a talking filibuster, attaching it to a must-pass bill, including it in reconciliation — he just doesn't want to use them. Asked why, he said plainly: "It's about the votes. It's about the math."

Let's check Thune's math:

✅  Republicans control the House, 218 to 215.

✅  Republicans control the Senate, 53 to 47.

✅  Republicans control the presidency, 312 electoral votes to 226.

You'd think wins like that would be a mandate. You'd think it would buy Republicans one real legislative victory this year — something more than another pork-stuffed spending bill. But according to Thune, he's just the "clear-eyed realist about what we can achieve."

If voters don't get anything for winning elections, what's the point of winning them?

This is exactly why SCF doesn't sit around waiting for Washington to fix itself — we go recruit the fix. Right now, we're backing Ken Paxton in Texas, Mike Collins in Georgia, Kevin Hern in Oklahoma, Barry Moore in Alabama, and Harriet Hageman in Wyoming — candidates who didn't get into this race to explain why the fight can't be won, but to win it.

Support our 2026 candidates today, while there's still time!

Remember the Tea Party years, when the same Republican leadership class lectured grassroots conservatives, over and over: "You can't just run against things, you have to be for something." Fine. Here's a bill that's for something — for the basic idea that only citizens decide American elections. We're for it. Are they?

Here's the part that really makes our blood boil. While establishment Senators — like John Cornyn, who deservedly lost his primary in Texas — are lecturing voters for having unrealistic expectations, they ran campaign ads all spring and summer promising to pass the SAVE America Act.

Uh, what? So we're the rubes who fell for the outrageous idea that passing the SAVE America Act was possible, while the GOP establishment ran campaign ads telling us to vote for them specifically to pass the bill. Got it.

It's the same theater we've watched for decades. Always the same routine. Always Lucy pulling away the football. Senate Republican leadership doesn't lack the votes — they lack the will. And they've gotten very good at sounding smart while explaining why the only realistic move is to break their word to voters.

Change in Washington means changing who we send there.

That's the reason SCF exists. Every dollar you donate — 100% of your donation — goes to support real rock-ribbed conservatives ready to rumble. We don't fund so-called "clear-eyed realists." We fund people who show up to win the fight, not narrate the loss.

We back the candidates who'll actually force the votes leadership wants to bury — not the ones who'll go on TV afterward and explain, very reasonably, why it couldn't be done.

Please chip in today, and let's make sure the next time someone asks Senate leadership what it is they do here, they finally have an answer.
