Congress Must Be Reminded: The majority of Americans don't want their tax dollars funding Israel Dear Email, Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 8800, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2027, by an extraordinarily narrow vote of 216–212. This NDAA authorizes billions of dollars in weapons, military assistance, and other support that would further enable Israel’s occupation and genocide against Palestinians. It also includes a deeply alarming provision, Section 219, that would further integrate the U.S. military and defense supply chain with Israel’s military and defense sector. Members who stood on the right side of history need to know that we have their backs, and those who voted in favor of the bill need to know that we will hold them accountable. Find out how your Representative voted on the House-passed NDAA here.  The 6 Dems who shamefully voted in favor were: Rep. Henry Cuellar (TX), Rep. Donald Davis (NC), Rep. Jared Golden (ME), Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (TX), Rep. Adam Gray (CA), Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA). The 7 Republicans who voted against were: Rep. Josh Brecheen (OK), Rep. Tim Burchett (TN), Rep. Elijah Crane (AZ), Rep. Harriet Hageman (WY), Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (FL), Rep. Thomas Massie (KY), Rep. Chip Roy (TX). Why This Vote Matters: The significance of this vote cannot be overstated. The near defeat of a traditionally “must-pass” defense bill is historic. With only six exceptions, every voting House Democrat opposed the legislation, alongside seven Republicans. That opposition sends a powerful message: Congress cannot continue treating unchecked military spending, unconditional support for Israel, and deeper integration between the U.S. and Israeli militaries as politically untouchable. This fight is not over. The NDAA still needs to move through additional votes and negotiations in both the House and Senate before it can become law. Each stage presents another opportunity to remove its most dangerous provisions, or defeat the legislation altogether. What You Can Do: Thank the representatives who opposed this legislation and let them know we expect them to continue fighting as the NDAA moves forward. Contact the representatives who supported it and make clear that their constituents reject billions more for war, unconditional support for Israel, and the further integration of the U.S. and Israeli militaries.
