Friend --

Imagine hiking through red rock canyons with your family while California Condors soar above you...

Or standing with friends under an endless desert night sky, gazing up at a universe of stars.

Now, imagine coming back to find locked gates, towering drilling rigs, and heavy machinery tearing up these sacred cultural landscapes while harsh industrial glare washes away the night sky.

In just the last week and a half, the administration has threatened to strip protections from over 3.2 million acres of public lands in multiple states, opening them up for industrial drilling, mining, and extraction.

This is what's at stake, and why we need your help today to defend our public lands.

First came attacks on Utah's Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante. Now, the BLM is stripping protections around Greater Chaco, threatening sacred ancestral sites and ancient pueblos of immense cultural importance.

Friend, the pattern is clear: a systematic handover of our cherished public lands to corporate polluters. We cannot stand by and let our shared legacy be carved up.

Your urgent support powers our fight across these critical fronts:

On Capitol Hill: Pressuring lawmakers to block federal funding for development on stripped lands.

On the Ground: Partnering with Tribal Nations and local allies to stop immediate encroachment and mobilizing public participation in official comment periods.

In Court: Our legal teams are actively investigating challenges to defend these monuments, holding firm to the principle that no president can erase these protections.

Together, we have the power to stop this. Handing this land over to giant oil and gas companies puts the health of local Native American communities at risk, threatens our clean air, and destroys thousands of years of irreplaceable history. But when we stand up together, we can protect these sacred places and keep them safe for kids and families for years to come.

With determination,

The Sierra Club Team
