We demand change.

We are going to get through the coronavirus outbreak together. If you are experiencing symptoms or are looking for more information, you can visit the website of the CDC or the Illinois Department of Health. We are closely monitoring the situation and its effects on the people of Illinois and our nation as we work together to keep our families and communities safe.

Justice is on the ballot this November, John.

57 years ago, over 200,000 demonstrators descended on Washington for the March for Jobs and Freedom. I was nine years old when I heard speeches by Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lewis. Even though I was a kid, I remember being awed at their strength and determination — their willingness to risk personal safety for the good of the many.

Today, Americans are once again taking to the streets to carry on the struggle for racial justice. House Democrats are working to do our part — we passed the Justice in Policing Act two months ago, but Mitch McConnell and Republicans in the Senate refuse to do their jobs and bring this critical legislation to a vote.

It’s going to take all of us to hold them accountable and create the change our communities are calling out for. Pitch in $10 to help us continue organizing and building our voting power so we can stop Trump, McConnell, and the GOP in November >>> [secure.actblue.com/donate/chuy-aug-eom?refcode=0830_link&amount=10]

Here in Chicagoland, racist and unconstitutional policing has devastated our communities and left thousands trapped in a criminal justice system that refuses to ever truly let them go. It’s robbed friends, families, and neighbors of their livelihoods and their lives.

Donald Trump will continue to let this injustice fester, John. Out-organizing the GOP is our only chance to bring about change — and we need your help. Donate TODAY and help build our organizing power for 2020 and beyond >>> [secure.actblue.com/donate/chuy-aug-eom?refcode=0830_link2&amount=10]

Chuy is working alongside voices for progress in Congress to bring real reform and transformative change to our justice system. But first, we need to elect a president and Congress equally committed to addressing this injustice.

In solidarity,

Chuy García
