Tomorrow, I’m turning 50 years old — and a few days ago, my ally Cori Bush turned 50.
TONIGHT we’re celebrating our birthdays together and raising money for the final few weeks before our primary elections!
Donations will go toward Sisters Saving Lives, our joint fundraising committee that splits donations evenly between our two election campaigns.
We’ll get roasted by guest speakers and we’ll talk about what we’ll fight for in Congress if we get re-elected.
My sister-in-service Cori was the first activist in the movement for Black lives to serve in Congress, where she led the fight against police brutality and repression.
I’ve been proud to support her leadership in the fight for Black and Palestinian liberation, housing and utilities for all, reproductive justice, and a national public safety system that centers care rather than punishment.
I recently joined her to knock doors and raise money for her campaign in St. Louis:
Together we’re fighting for a government that invests in our communities’ urgent needs rather than spending our tax dollars on state violence.
Thank you for working alongside us for the country we all deserve, where our tax dollars go toward helping everyone thrive rather than war crimes or corporate profits.
