Hey John, I’m Kim Russell — I lead our finance team at Women’s March.
I was going through some numbers from this month and I wanted to give you a quick update on our finances. Right now we are $11,989 short from reaching our $115,000 August fundraising goal. Closing this gap is critical if we want to set a strong budget for the next 10 weeks leading up the election.
If you think your donation won’t make much of a difference in helping us reach our goal, please believe me when I say it absolutely can.
Our average donation last month was $14.28. Grassroots donations from thousands of folks is how we’ve always been able to fuel this movement and it’s how we’re going to build the organizing power we need to defeat Trump.
Can you chip in $14.28 or anything you can today to help us reach our August fundraising goal? If half of the people reading this email right now chip in, we can hit our goal by our midnight deadline tomorrow.

$14.28 might not seem like a lot of money, but please believe me when I say that there’s so much power in this number.
It’s powerful evidence of the grassroots movement we’re building. We’re creating a movement that represents the many and not the few. Women, femmes, and allies all across the country are embracing their individual power this election to speak up for our values and demand the representation we deserve.
Here are just a couple of accomplishments from August that were made possible by donations from our supporters:
- We launched our text bank and have sent over 750,000 texts helping women register to vote.
- We made hundreds of calls to local officials in Kenosha to demand that the cop who shot Jacob Blake be fired and held accountable immediately.
- Tens of thousands of you have attended our our new live event series, Feminist Futures and participated in conversations around the intersection of gender, race, class, and sexuality, and our shared future.
Together, we are building the movement we need to defeat Trump and build a better future for all of us. But if we want to finish the job, it’s critical we raise the funds we need to keep our programs running on all cylinders.
Whether you give a couple bucks, $14, or even $100 — your donation has the power to create a direct impact on what happens November 3rd.
There’s less than 10 weeks left until the most important election of our lifetime — we can’t risk falling short on a fundraising goal. If you’re able, can you make a donation of whatever you can afford before our deadline tomorrow night?
Keep fighting,
Kim
