John,

Earlier this month we witnessed history as Senator Kamala Harris, a Black and AAPI woman, became the first woman of color on a presidential ticket -- and just the third woman to ever be nominated for the vice presidency by a major party.

To date, only 359 women have ever served in Congress -- compared to almost 12,000 men. And women still compose just 23.7% of the legislature despite forming over 50% of the total population.

This underrepresentation is dangerous. It’s why Donald Trump, a man with over 25 sexual assault accusations against him and a proven history of misogyny, can hold the highest office in the land. It’s why Republican congressmen continually block pro-women legislation such as the Violence Against Women Act.

But there are a record number of women running for office this year who are ready to change that. And together we can help them run successful campaigns to get Trump and his anti-women GOP colleagues out of office.

But the GOP has already spent millions trying to keep their incumbent congressmen in power while The New York Times reports that women are more likely “to rely on small donations, from individual donors and from women,” leaving them at a disadvantage compared to well-funded male candidates backed by powerful special interests.

Right now, we’re just $1,532 short of our August fundraising goal -- and we urgently need your help. Please, if you want to remove a serial sexual assailant from the White House and elect more Democratic women to office, we need you to donate right now.

With only 9 weeks left until the election, can we count on you to make your first contribution to join our efforts by giving $5, $10, $25, or whatever you can today? >> [link removed]

We’re deeply grateful for your support.

Thank you for all that you do every day to help women across the country,
A Woman’s Place
