Did you see Jared’s email about the Trump administration trying to destroy the USPS?

Jared knows that this is a huge concern for the people of our district — and it’s a major concern for him, too.

That’s why he and his Democratic colleagues are working to right the wrongs that Trump and Postmaster General DeJoy have already done.

Will you stand with Jared and the Democrats in Congress and sign our petition right now? We need to make sure that Donald Trump hears loud and clear that we will not tolerate him threatening our election and disrupting our mail service.

Thanks,

Team Huffman

John,

Here’s what we now know beyond a shadow of a doubt: Donald Trump is willing to do anything — ANYTHING — to win this election. And that includes attacking, dismantling, and undermining a crucial American institution: the United States Postal Service.

Since the beginning of this pandemic, Trump’s steady drumbeat against mail-in voting has been getting louder and stronger. He believes that if more people are allowed to safely vote, he will lose.

But now he’s taken things to a dangerous new level by actively working to prevent the timely delivery of mail, including election ballots, medicines, and much more. This situation is dire, and Democrats are working hard to fix it. We’re sounding the alarm, holding public hearings, and voting to reverse his destructive changes.

But right now, we need you to raise your voice as well.

Will you please sign our petition demanding that the Senate Republicans join us in a vote to reverse Trump’s attacks on the USPS? So much damage has already been done, and we need to fix it immediately.

This issue is very important to me and my fellow Democrats. That’s why I first reached out to you back in June about vote-by-mail and then again in July about the need to fully fund the USPS.

I visited one of our local post offices in Eureka to speak directly with postal workers about the impacts of recent operational changes by the Trump administration and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

This is crucial for the upcoming election, but it’s not just an election problem: I’m alarmed by reports from across the North Coast of people not getting their paychecks, Social Security benefits, and other critical deliveries. Farmers in the North Bay have reported that Trump's postal service slowdown is literally killing their turkey chicks. Veterans are not getting their VA mail order prescriptions on time.

Meanwhile, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s appearance before House and Senate committees has done nothing to allay our worst fears. This Trump lackey, who has invested heavily in USPS competitors, got his job because he gave big to Trump, and he has been working methodically over the past two months to sabotage the USPS—from cutting down on overtime to dismantling sorting machines to removing mailboxes.

DeJoy claimed he’ll stop some of these draconian measures, but he will not reverse the changes that are already decimating this critical institution.

That’s why the House has voted to reverse his changes, but we need a Senate vote too.

I’ve been getting tons of calls and emails from constituents who are angry, upset, and frightened about this situation—and I hear you loud and clear. Join me in condemning Trump and DeJoy and demanding that Senate Republicans join us in fixing this mess.

Thanks for your help,
