John,

Sometimes, running for Congress can be hard. The long hours, the political attacks, the toll it takes on my family -- it can all get to me.

But then I remember why I'm in this fight.

I'm running for Congress for my grandfather -- a WWII veteran who proudly served his nation again as a mail carrier for the USPS.

I'm running for my mom, a single parent who worked for decades as a nurse -- but who died at just 67 because she couldn't afford the insulin she needed to stay healthy.

I'm running for my daughters, who looked around after the 2016 election and wondered how a man who admitted to assaulting women could be elected president of the United States.

I'm running for their kids -- because if I someday have grandchildren, I want them to live on a planet with breathable air and drinkable water.

And I'm running for your kids, because no child in America should go hungry, and your zip code shouldn't determine the quality of your public schools.

By holding the House of Representatives in November, we can save the USPS and the Affordable Care Act. We can take the steps we need to save this planet for future generations and end the scourge of gun violence. We can extend further coronavirus relief aid to our families and small businesses while we work with leaders in science and medicine to stop the spread. We can build a nation that finally works for all of us.

I promise that I will spend my life fighting for our country and our values, and I know we can make this nation better, together. It all starts by defending the House majority.

The path to holding the Democratic majority runs through CA-25. In 2018, when we flipped our district blue for the first time in 25 years, we proved that change was possible. Now we have to make that change a reality once again.

I won't win this race without the support of people like you, John. Can I count on your support today? We still need to raise $15,808 by the end of the month to connect with newly-registered Democrats in our district and make sure they turn out to vote.
