Springfield Democrats keep using the word “affordability.” Illinois families keep seeing the bill.
Governor Pritzker signed the largest budget in state history, piled on new taxes and fees, and then tried to sell voters a few short-term gimmicks as relief.
Only in Democrat-run Illinois does government spend more, take more, and then ask taxpayers to applaud.
The truth is simple: high costs are a policy choice. High taxes are a policy choice. The same old Springfield machine is prioritizing political allies, spending on undocumented immigrants, and even their own paychecks over real relief for Illinois families.
Illinois Republicans are offering a different path: lower costs, safer communities, better schools, and a state people can afford to call home.
But getting that message out takes resources, and Democrats have the machine fully funded.
