Our end-of-month fundraising deadline gets here tomorrow at midnight, and I'm hoping you'll chip in before then so we can finish the month strong. But before asking for your help, I want to explain why we need you right now.

August is traditionally a slow month for grassroots fundraising, but when we initially put together our campaign budget for the year, no one could have predicted where we currently find ourselves — in the middle of a public health crisis that's forced us to socially distance in order to protect our communities.

Like so many of you, my campaign is adjusting to the new normal. Door-to-door knocking and in-person events are no longer options, so we've pivoted almost entirely to the online space.

Our ability to fund these costly digital efforts comes down to grassroots support. Very early on, I refused corporate PAC money, choosing instead to win with the help of everyday people — and I don't regret that decision one bit. 

We depend on you, John. It's because of you that we got the job done in the June primary, and it'll be your support that allows us to expand our House majority, take back the Senate, and kick Donald Trump to the curb in November.
