It’s been just two weeks since Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and Johan Sebastián
Guerrero were killed by ICE. In that time, vigils have sprung up in Maine
and Texas, and spread across the country. As people gather to mourn the
victims of ICE brutality and demand justice and accountability, this is
how the Trump regime is responding:

The regime has already tried to lie about, cover up, and distract from
their carnage. Now, they’re threatening more violence to intimidate us
into silence. But we will not be silent -- not while they continue to
terrorize our communities and kill our neighbors.

This Saturday, we’re gathering for a nationwide day of mourning and
action. Between today and then, we have actions you can take to mobilize
your neighbors, prepare for the day of action, and continue organizing
beyond this weekend. 

 1. [ [link removed] ]This Saturday, join a vigil in your community to mourn Lorenzo,
Johan, and all victims of ICE and fight for accountability. Vigils of
every size can help ensure that Lorenzo’s and Johan’s killings do not
fade from public attention and send a clear message: No government
agency should be allowed to kill anyone, intimidate witnesses, or
operate with impunity.

encourage you to gather as events are planned, either on the day of

and Shared Future to prepare for this weekend’s vigils, and learn how
to continue demanding accountability for Lorenzo, Johan, and every
victim of ICE violence.

 3. [ [link removed] ]Tomorrow at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT: Join the second call of our Immigrant
Justice Summer training series. As ICE brutality skyrockets across the
country, it’s critical that we all have the skills and training to
organize an effective response and protect our communities. On this
call, you’ll learn how to identify and support the work of existing

NOTE: This call will take place at the same time as the training for

This weekend, we’ll gather to mourn Johan and Sebastián and all those
who’ve been taken away from us by ICE and Border Patrol, honor their
lives, and hold their families, coworkers, and communities in our hearts.

And together, we’ll move from mourning into action: demanding full and
independent investigations, the release and protection of witnesses, the
end of all local and state collaboration with ICE, and for Congress to use
their oversight and funding authority to hold ICE and DHS to account.

We will not stop fighting until our communities are safe from the regime’s
violence and everyone from the individual agents to the leaders who direct
them is held accountable.
