Dem senator humiliates Pentagon Pete with basic war questions
Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth sat before the Senate Appropriations Committee yesterday and had his sanctimonious ass handed to him by Sen. Jon Ossoff. The Georgia Democrat repeatedly used Hegseth's own words against him as he questioned why the Pentagon needed an additional $67 BILLION just to get through the end of this fiscal year on September 30.
Pete came asking for a handout, but it was Ossoff who showed up with the receipts. He calmly noted that Hegseth previously declared Operation Epic Fury a "historic and overwhelming victory" and claimed that Iran and been rendered "combat-ineffective for years to come." When he asked Hegseth if his declaration just 14 days into the war — nearly five months ago — that the Iranian military had been "destroyed" was accurate, the increasingly agitated Defense secretary predictably equivocated.
Hegseth also claimed the total price tag for the Iran war so far was $37.5 billion, a number THREE TIMES lower than our own intelligence community's estimates. Keep up the good work, Pete.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump gets MANIPULATED by foreign leader at the White House
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun showed the world just how susceptible our man-toddler-in-chief is to nakedly saccharine praise yesterday. We'd call it a master class, but the truth is, a kindergartener could pull off the same.

Democrat in must-win red-to-blue race hit with DERANGED attack from Trump
JoAnna Mendoza for Congress: Trump's Super PAC has just released an absolutely unhinged new ad against veteran and top Democratic House candidate JoAnna Mendoza, pulling out the same anti-trans hysteria playbook of LIES that he used against Kamala Harris. It's an all-hands-on-deck moment to fight back against this devious misinformation. Will you chip in to help Joanna flip this winnable red seat and take back control of Congress from the GOP?
Mamdani ignites MAGA firestorm — and draws liberal praise — with new Netanyahu arrest demand
In a stunning public address, New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani sadly concluded that the city does not have the authority to unilaterally arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called on the federal government to act. Mamdani noted: "The federal government, however, does — and I call on them to join the ICC and execute this warrant. Benjamin Netanyahu is not welcome in New York City, nor is any other war criminal at large."
The mayor described Netanyahu — accurately, we should note — as "a war criminal, the architect of a horrific genocide against the Palestinian people” and reiterated that he believes the Israeli leader "belongs in The Hague," where the ICC is based. Can you imagine Bashar al-Assad, or Slobodan Milošević, or Saddam Hussein being allowed to freely stroll around Manhattan like they're just any other world leader? Us neither.

Trump downplays China's election meddling: "We do things to them, too"
Days after throwing down a suspicious gauntlet on primetime TV and flatly accusing China of meddling in the 2020 election with the express purpose of ousting him from office, Mr. America First pulled a stunning about-face, downplaying the severity of the supposed sabotage as something that took place "a long time ago." It's quite the pivot from a thin-skinned man who notoriously holds grudges for even the slightest offenses.
Five days after accusing the Chinese government of executing "the largest compromise of election data in history" — the sort of provocation you'd think would animate the full might and muscle of the most powerful government on the planet — Donald was in a much more amenable mood, telling reporters, "I think China's maybe a little bit different today than it was then. But look, they do things. And we do things to them. I'll be honest. We do things to them, too. It's not a one-way street. But we'll be talking to them."
We're sure the United States' intelligence community will be just thrilled to hear Trump talking so openly about some of our, um, more indecorous activities...

Mike Johnson breaks with Trump on Iran war: "We've got to wrap it up"
House Speaker Mike Johnson has apparently FINALLY found a newspaper and learned that the United States is at war with Iran — without any approval from the governing body he's in charge of — and he's decided that it's time for it to end...immediately after Trump burned all the diplomatic bridges, restarted the war, and ensured that a peaceful end to the conflict was all but impossible without one side choosing to stop firing.
If only there was a guy with the power to end a war, possibly with some kind of governing gavel given to him by an elected body of his peers...

Ken Paxton flees own press conference when asked about his scandals
Standing before a podium with a poster plastered to it reading "Talarico: Handcuffed To His Record," state Attorney General and sentient cigar stub Ken Paxton refused to answer straightforward questions about his various scandals, telling reporters he wanted to "keep this to law enforcement today."
It's a classic have-it-both-ways move from the insufferable MAGA Senate candidate. Flanked by more than a dozen law enforcement officers in cowboy hats, Paxton was holding a press conference to tout the endorsements he'd received from 22 local sheriffs. But damned if he wouldn't answer a single question about the laws he has repeatedly broken in his decade in office, including repeatedly voting in elections using an illegitimate address — otherwise known as voter fraud.
Rather than respond, Paxton simply walked away. From his own presser. What an alpha-male.

Trump agrees to provide Saudi Arabia with nuclear program
The president of the United States just signed off on a 30-year deal gifting the world's biggest historical funder of 9/11-linked extremism the green light to enrich uranium — ya know, the very thing we're ostensibly at war with Iran over right now. This less than eight years after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had Washington Post journalist and Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi murdered and dismembered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
Nonproliferation experts have rightly warned any spinning centrifuges within Saudi Arabia could open the door to a future weapons program for the kingdom — something MBS has previously vowed to pursue should arch-enemy Iran ever obtain nuclear weapons.
What could possibly go horribly wrong handing one terror-funding petro-monarchy in the Middle East keys to the enrichment kingdom while literally bombing another for pursuing the same?
