Spreading the Word: Foundation to Participate in South Carolina Senior Expo

One of the comments we encounter most frequently is that folks have never heard of us! Not really that unusual, since we're still relatively new -- only in our sixth year of operation -- and since most of what we do is Central Florida based. We've been working on that geographic issue for the past year or so, with our livestreaming of seminars and our nationally accessible radio presence, and we've begun to work toward replication of our programs in other areas of the country. So, we're getting there!
And here's another step in that direction...on Friday, October 18, 2019, our Foundation will be represented at the "Palmetto Sr. Expo 2019" in Spartanburg, South Carolina. We'll be joined there by officials of our affiliated organization AMAC Action, Inc. in a full day of exhibits covering products and services of importance to seniors.
At this Expo, we'll share the services the Foundation provides to its constituency, focusing on our Social Security Advisory Service, the websites we maintain for the public, and the seminars we provide locally and via the internet.

Foundation Radio Program Coming to an End

In our February newsletter, we announced the launch of our "Senior Talks: Deciphering the Social Security Maze" radio program broadcast on WFAX Christian Talk Radio. As noted in February, WFAX is a well-established Christian talk radio station, with a 70-year broadcasting history and a reach extending to millions of residents in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland. And, via the Internet, the station's programming reaches the entire nation.
"The ability to reach a national audience online and a local audience in the Washington metro area gives us a great opportunity to share information about Social Security," Foundation president Dan Weber commented. "This will really enable us to help more seniors by providing critical guidance at a time when they need it most."
We elected to operate this project over a six-month period beginning in late-March, with an objective of gaining the broadcast experience and compiling an inventory of recorded sessions for posting on the Foundation's website. When we conclude in September, we will have 130 individual sessions covering virtually every aspect of Social Security, and these will be posted on the website for podcast-type access by the public. Development of this feature is underway, and is expected to be available by October, along with a topical index of the key content of each half-hour broadcast-a great addition to our Social Security Advisory Service.
Watch for more information on this tremendous resource addition in the coming months.
