My name is Kayla, and I lead the political grassroots organizing operations for the NRDC Action Fund. I'm writing because we're facing an unprecedented moment in this nation's history — and the urgent need for action on the largest possible scale.

Over 180,000 U.S. deaths from COVID-19. An epidemic of Black people killed at the hands of police. A corrupt president making it harder to vote safely. A climate that's hotter and more extreme than ever before — and that's disproportionally impacting Black, Indigenous, and communities of color.

Meanwhile, devastating wildfires are ravaging California ... hurricanes are hammering coastal communities in Texas and Louisiana ... and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is now open to reckless oil and gas drilling.

There's so much on the line, and the future of our nation will be determined by how we vote in just 65 days.

I've been talking to my organizers, and even though we can't knock on doors and do in-person voter outreach, we're finding new ways to reach people every day. Your ongoing support will help us meet our August goal and block Trump's anti-science agenda. But it will also do so much more:

  • In September, it will help our organizers educate the public on safe voting practices and run targeted outreach to voters in battleground states and districts, urging them to vote by mail and take advantage of early voting.
  • In October, it will help us run a massive virtual get-out-the-vote campaign, fund phone banks in key districts, and encourage people in low-risk groups to sign up to be poll workers at election sites across the country.
  • In November, it will help us turn out climate voters like never before and elect environmental champions up and down the ballot.

If we want to accomplish all this — and keep fighting to turn back Trump's and Congress's attacks on our air, water, land, and climate — we need to get our organizers deployed right now and make sure they have all the resources they need.
