Extreme weather, extreme road conditions, and extreme public health crises haven’t stopped the U.S. Postal Service (USPS), and neither will Trump and the Republicans’ sabotage.
Donald Trump appointed Republican super-donor Louis DeJoy to the role of Postmaster General in June, and Dejoy wasted no time in enacting Trump’s agenda to hamper USPS and suppress our votes. But we won’t let this happen.
DeJoy is riddled with major conflicts of interest – he owns at least a $30 million stake in a USPS contractor and as much as $100,000 in Amazon stock options. After taking office, DeJoy acted swiftly to undercut USPS operations by ordering multiple policies to deliberately slow down mail delivery.
After significant public outcry when his and Trump’s agenda was revealed, DeJoy halted these damaging changes until after the election had passed – but then he refused to roll back the changes that are already causing Americans significant harm. Bills, medications, and other vital mail has been delayed during a public health crisis, and DeJoy has demonstrated no interest in helping the Americans across the country who so desperately need their mail. These reckless actions in the midst of a pandemic are part of the Republicans’ strategy to further Trump’s war on voting by mail.
Trump’s sinking poll numbers have left his campaign DESPERATE to do anything he can to help him get reelected this November – including destroying one of America’s most beloved institutions. But we won’t let him.
Tell the USPS Board of Governors to get rid of DeJoy and restore all services immediately. >>
