Folks,

The 2026 congressional map is finally set — and it’s a national disgrace that it took so long to get here.

In most election cycles, we know what the congressional map will look like by the time the ball drops in Times Square, if not earlier. But all of that changed when Republicans orchestrated an unprecedented, shameless, and deeply undemocratic power grab that forced redraws in state after state.

It’s led us to an intensely gerrymandered map where millions of people’s voices — especially Black and brown voters — simply have less power than they did before.

Since the beginning, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee has been on the front lines of the effort to fight back, and it’s clearer than ever that this work is just getting underway. These midterm elections and the months that follow will decide a ton about what future maps look like — and we need your help. If you can, make a contribution today and help fund our comprehensive plan to end the redistricting crisis for good: [[link removed]]

It’s sad to think that, just four years ago, the fair maps movement helped shape what the New York Times described as the “fairest House map of the last 40 years.” That’s been wiped away by Donald Trump and his MAGA allies, who are terrified of facing voters in an election fought on a level playing field.

Worse, this won’t stop there. Republicans have already laid out plans to go even further in 2028. They have their sights set on states like Georgia, Mississippi, and South Carolina.

We have a plan, too. The NDRC has a rigorous, multi-front strategy to defeat future gerrymanders, empower voters to pass counter-measures, and win elections this fall and beyond. That’s how we’ll pass reforms and throw a wrench into GOP plans to try to rig elections for years to come.

But this is a massive undertaking, and we need your help. Rush a gift today to help set this plan in motion and defend democracy from the extreme forces working to undermine it: [[link removed]]

Thank you,

— KT
