Hello John,
Earlier this week, I was honored to throw the first pitch at the Sanford Spinners baseball game in Sanford. It’s been quite a while since I threw a pitch of any kind … so once I heard about this gig, I knew I had to practice. Practice was what I did … in my backyard … throwing a baseball and trying to hit a tree.

Anyway,when I got to the field, there were so many community members, specifically some younger folks, eager to help me make sure that I could get the ball across home plate. I got some good advice, especially from an avid 5 year old who had a lot to say. With his help, I sent the ball right into the strike zone. (What he told me afterward was pretty classic too: “Hey, that wasn’t even all that bad!”)
I am taking the same approach here as I did to throwing that first strike of the game. Listening to those around me, in the community, and figuring out the best approach to get across the finish line this November, so we can have representation that actually fights for us in Washington.
I definitely won't be quitting my day job anytime soon, but I am running for a new one as your representative for NC-13. Can I count on your donation to help us hit the home run we need right now? Every donation gets us one base closer to a win this November.
