A COVID-19 outbreak is erupting in Gaza.
Already, the besieged enclave is dealing with air strikes
from Israeli warplanes, insufficient electricity, a lack of clean
drinking water, and fragile healthcare system. Because of the
blockade, Gaza only has access to 200 coronavirus test kits per day
and 90 ventilators. So far, 145 COVID-19 cases have been
identified in Gaza and three people have died.
Join the discussion this morning at 10 AM ET
live from the ground with We Are Not Numbers writers and
activists Hanan Abu Kmail, Mona
Msaddar, and Basman Derawi.

Hanan Abu Kmail is a
medical intern with a special interest in oncology research. Since the
COVID-19 outbreak began worldwide, she has been educating the public
in Gaza about the pandemic and helping manufacture 3D
masks.
Mona Msaddar has
worked as an English trainer for more than three years. She loves her
students and feels she is responsible for giving them the best she can
of her personality and knowledge. She is the kind of person who
always tries more than her best to achieve her dreams and to stand by
her principles. She sees herself as a poet, which is why she listens
deeply to her heart. "No matter how hard life is, the solution always
lies in two words: TRY and BELIEVE."
Basman Derawi, 26, was born in
Kuwait and lived there for two years before coming to Gaza. A
physiotherapist for the Ministry of Health, he graduated from Al-Azhar
University in 2010. He thinks of writing as a remedy--a
tool that can change the world and be used as resistance. Basman
began drafting stories a year ago and is inspired by music, movies,
and people with special needs. One of his dreams as a Palestinian is
to share and show Palestinians' real faces as they struggle and work
for their rights. He also loves to read, cook, and play video games
and basketball.
The webinar will be facilitated by
our own Ariel
Gold
We
Are Not Numbers is an organization that
