Dear Mr. xxxxxx,
Flood Recovery Resources, Updates, and Assistance
Communities across the Hill Country continue recovering from last week’s devastating floods. While we are grateful that the loss of life was far lower than during last year’s flood, two of our fellow Texans were tragically lost, and many communities sustained significant damage to homes, businesses, roads, and other infrastructure.
Damage assessments remain underway, and President Trump has approved a federal emergency declaration to support response efforts across the affected counties. My office remains in close coordination with local, state, and federal officials as our communities begin the work of recovering and rebuilding. Below are resources currently available to affected residents, businesses, and volunteers.
Report Storm Damage to TDEM
If your home or business sustained storm damage, please report it through the Texas Division of Emergency Management’s Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool, or ISTAT.
These reports are vital to helping state and federal officials understand the scope of the damage, deploy resources, and determine eligibility for additional recovery assistance. Completing the survey is not an application for financial assistance.
Please Fill Out the Survey: Here.

Rep. Roy on the Hill Country Floods: “I was honored to visit with first responders, local officials, and the residents of Blanco, Kerr, Kendal, and Gillespie counties to survey the damage and assess recovery and rebuilding efforts. More than 200 rescues were made during this flood thanks to heroic first responders. The water is down, but recovery is just getting started. Keep these communities in your prayers.”
Reporting Illegal Aliens Receiving Government Healthcare
While Americans face ever-increasing medical bills and a patchwork health insurance system fostered by a nightmarish bureaucratic scheme, illegal aliens are often appearing in hospitals and emergency rooms across the country and receiving free medical care at the expense of taxpayers. To rectify this injustice, I have introduced the Illegal Alien Reporting Act, H.R. 9656, which would require hospitals that receive federal health care funding to ask patients to provide forms demonstrating whether the patient is a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, present in the United States on a valid visa, or lawfully present in the country. This reporting requirement will finally illuminate the extreme extent to which illegal aliens receive taxpayer-funded healthcare so that we can root out those abuses more effectively.
Rep. Roy on the Illegal Alien Patient Reporting Act: “For years, Americans have watched overcrowded emergency rooms, rising healthcare costs, and strained hospital resources while being kept in the dark about the potential billions of taxpayer dollars spent on healthcare for those who are in the country illegally. That lack of accountability is unacceptable and absurd. The Illegal Alien Patient Reporting Act delivers the transparency and accountability Americans deserve by ensuring hospitals report the extent to which illegal aliens are adding to the fiscal burden of our healthcare system.”

Codifying Trump’s Border Policies
I am proud that the House Judiciary Committee plans to markup my bill, the Permanent Trump Secure Border Act, for a full markup today, Tuesday, 7/21. This markup will enable the House to consider my legislation on the floor to codify secure border policies into law. As we have seen, and thanks to the strong leadership of President Trump, our Southern border is currently secure. However, we remain vulnerable to the whims of a future President that follows in the Biden Administration’s footsteps by deciding to reopen our border. This is why it is so crucial that Congress codify into law the successful border policies of President Trump so that our border remains secure permanently – policies like mandating the completion of the border wall, ending catch-and-release, bolstering turn-away authority, raising the ‘credible fear’ asylum standard, prohibiting mass interior alien paroles, closing the Flores families with minors loophole, requiring unaccompanied alien children to be safely returned home, and ending federal subsidization of mass immigration facilitating NGOs.
Rep. Roy on Permanently Securing the Border Through Trump’s Policies: "President Trump and his Administration have done a phenomenal job at securing our border. Time to make his policies permanent…
The next five and a half months are critical. Republicans must go on OFFENSE: -Codify border security. -Pause immigration. -End birthright citizenship. -SAVE America. -Defund sanctuary cities. We are making progress, but must keep our foot on the gas."

Defunding the United Nations
For decades, the United Nations has received billions of dollars in contributions from the United States and then funneled that money to fund NGOs and initiatives that undermine American sovereignty. From refugee programs that import unvetted mass migration into the West to tyrannical global health organizations that trample on our constitutional freedoms, the United Nations has misused the funding it receives. In an effort to rebuke the abuses of this globalist organization, I introduced an amendment to the foreign affairs appropriations bill which would end all American funding toward the United Nations. Unfortunately, 80 Republicans joined with all of the Democrats to defeat my amendment. I will not give up the fight; we must hold the United Nations accountable for the wasting of our tax dollars and its anti-Western agenda.
Rep. Roy on Defunding the United Nations: "I offered an amendment to DEFUND THE UN. Unfortunately, 80 Republicans teamed up with Democrats to kill it. We shouldn’t be funding an organization that is actively working against American interests...
It's important that we pull the funds from an entity operating against our interests. It's repeatedly failed to earn the confidence of the American people, it has stood up in solidarity with the worst and most evil countries in the world, and dared to wag their finger at the United States."

Blanco Post Office Updates
My office has received numerous inquiries from residents of Blanco and surrounding communities regarding the closure of the Blanco Post Office and disruptions to postal services. In response, my office immediately contacted senior leadership at the United States Postal Service (USPS) for information and sent an official letter of inquiry to the Postmaster General. I was able to speak with USPS senior leadership at the national and state level, where I expressed the frustrations of the Blanco community and pressed them to remedy the postal disruptions expeditiously. I received an official inquiry response from USPS and confirmation recently of a finalized lease for a new post office in Blanco.
The new facility will be located at 902 13th St, Blanco, TX 78606. While a lease has been signed and USPS is preparing the location to open, it will take time before the appropriate renovations and infrastructure are in place for the full retail and delivery operations to be available. In the interim, residents can access full in-person postal services at the Johnson City Post Office, which has committed to additional hours of operation on Saturday to accommodate the Blanco community. USPS is also attempting to restore 24-hour access to Post Office Boxes in Blanco as soon as possible.
This disruption has been frustrating for the community, and I will continue working with USPS to ensure the new facility opens as quickly as possible and that Blanco residents regain full access to postal services. I will keep the community informed as additional updates become available.

Joined Fox Business to Discuss the Need for Continued Immigration Enforcement and Passing the SAVE America Act
Rep. Roy on Fox Business: “Illegal aliens need to be removed from our country. Bad actors need to be put in jail and removed from our country. That's got to be the goal, and you can't back off from that. And traffic stops are a key component of that…
I'm a fiscal hawk. I'm a defense hawk, and I'm the author of the SAVE America Act. So I want Save America. I want to pay for this stuff. I want defense. I don't want to freeload and just write blank checks. And I don't know that we're where we need to be yet. But we're working towards it.”
