Dignity in Dying
Dear Friend,
MPs will vote on the assisted dying bill on 11 September - just 10 days after Parliament returns from recess. What happens between now and then may decide whether the bill continues to progress in the House of Commons.
Friend, I know how much you care about this. So I want to ask: will you give an hour this summer to prepare for a meeting with your MP?
We’re holding webinars throughout August to help you do just that. Whether you've never met an MP before or have spoken to yours in the past, this session will give you all the information you need to meet with your MP. This is one of the most effective ways to make them listen to what's important to you.
Paul Blomfield, Chair of Dignity in Dying and former MP, will be joining every session to share his first-hand experience of what makes these meetings count.
Register today to secure your place at one of our webinars this summer (every webinar will be the same):
Mon 3 Aug, 7-8pm → ([link removed])
Wed 5 Aug, 12.30 -1.30pm → ([link removed])
Mon 17 Aug, 12.30-1.30pm → ([link removed])
Tues 18 Aug, 7-8pm → ([link removed])
In this 1-hour webinar, we will:
Give you the latest updates on the campaign and the bill’s progress so far
Walk you through how to arrange a meeting with your MP, and the facts and evidence you need to make the case for change clearly
Help you shape your own story into something an MP won't forget
Show you how to leave a meeting with a clear ask your MP can act on
Answer your questions and help you feel ready, whatever your level of knowledge about the bill
Every conversation with an MP is an opportunity to make a real difference. Personal stories help bring this issue to life in a way that statistics alone cannot. By meeting your MP, you'll help them understand what's at stake for people in their constituency and why voting for this bill matters.
MPs are on their summer break right now. But when they return, there will be only 10 days before they vote. This is our opportunity to make sure they return to Westminster having already heard from constituents who care deeply about this issue.
Thank you, as ever, for standing with us on this.
Best wishes,
Tia Bush

P.S. You don't need to be an expert to make a difference, just willing to show up. Join a session to get ready, then take that conversation to your MP before 11 September.
