Katy’s opponent, Brandon Herrera, is a pro-gun YouTuber and gun manufacturer. This district includes Uvalde, home to Robb Elementary School – where 19 students and 2 teachers were killed, and 18 were injured by a mass shooter in 2022.

He has stated that the only reason he is in the race was that the former congressman of this district signed off on a common-sense gun safety bill following that shooting (the 2022 Safer Communities Act) which expanded background checks and helped states implement red flag laws.

After that bill was passed, Herrera moved to Texas from out of state just to run for office in THIS Uvalde district in protest of gun restrictions of any kind….
