AFGE Family,

America’s workforce is known for its grit, resolve, and determination to build a better future.

We’ve faced our fair share of challenges over the past year. We've been tested by those who look to destroy the labor movement and the rights of government workers.

But our ability to stand up and fight back is strong. The history of our own union shows us that there isn't a challenge we can't face, no obstacle that we can't overcome. Through organizing and mobilizing our peers, we've built campaigns and won all the rights and protections at the worksite that you now enjoy.

We are workers, united for a bold future that champions the rights of workers for generations to come.

As we take some time this week to reset and spend time with loved ones, we must return to the movement re-energized for the journey ahead. We must be ready to talk with every worker in our shops, grow the opportunities they have to be involved and become leaders in the movement, and empower one another to see the critical impact collective action can have on worker strength.

While the path before us is challenging, it is up to us to create a future that builds upon the accomplishments and sacrifices of those who paved the way.

Let us remember how far we’ve come and recommit ourselves to the work left to do.

From all of us here at AFGE we want to wish you and your family a safe and enjoyable Labor Day.

In Solidarity,

J. David
