Dear John,

I am going to keep this short and to the point.

In just a moment, I am going to ask you to make an additional contribution to our campaign to replace Nancy Pelosi. Our end-of-the-month deadline is just four days away.  

I hope that you will give me a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important to our campaign.

First off, thank you! It is with your support that we have seen so many victories for the candidates and issues we care about.

Second, as we saw this summer, grassroots campaigns like ours are winning across the country. Voices like our’s—including Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Mondaire Jones—have already won from coast-to-coast.

Our shared bold vision for America meets the urgency of this moment: establishing a living wage, universal healthcare, and climate justice, while ending corporate rule. Across each of these areas, we aim to unroot and transform the institutional racism that pervades issues from policing to social services, like housing and food assistance programs. 

In San Francisco, we are taking on the establishment—embodied in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi continues to equivocate. This spring, she supported a bill named after George Floyd that would expand police badges and surveillance!

But with your support, we have put Pelosi’s congressional seat in play for the first time in a generation. In the face of her theatrical “resistance” to our criminal president, we are advocating for the long overdue systematic changes that respond to our communities’ needs.

Can you make an additional gift today before our critical end-of-the-month deadline to keep our progressive momentum going? 

I would not ask if it was not important. Your support today will determine the strength of our campaign in the crucial month before ballots are mailed to voters.
