The Republican National Convention spent a lot of time trying to convince us, against all logic, that Donald Trump was somehow NOT the Donald Trump who put children in cages, embraced white supremacists, completely botched the COVID-19 response, and is hell-bent on dividing our country and undermining our democracy. Trump himself went so far as to compare himself in his remarks with the likes of Lincoln and FDR!
